Hello from the Corner Office

Hola from the corner office. What does that even mean???? Well, we moved rooms tonight. Since I am pretty much the best patient in the hospital, and all of the nurses love me (actually they all just think Matt is hot,) they asked me if I wanted the corner room, just down the hall from where I was. Matt and my dad took a look, and told me to say yes. So, I did. And we moved.

I am now in room 986 for anyone that wants to know.

The corner room is much larger, has windows on two walls, a lake view, a view down Fairbanks looking at the Sheraton, and, well, thats it. Only problem is that the tv is smaller and hung on the wall very high. Now I have even more room for visitors.

Thanks to everyone that has stopped by so far - especially Matt's mom and dad and sister who drove up from Lafayette, sat in traffic and really could only spend about an hour here. I am so so disappointed that they wouldn't let Adalyn up - but that's the rule. Matt says she looks very different than 1.5 weeks ago when we saw her last. I can't wait to see her in a couple of weeks when hopefully, she will get to meet her cousin.

Note - to all future visitors - DO NOT BRING CANDY!!! (We have had lots of offers of people bringing us things, and we appreciate all of them, but with the amount of candy already in the room, Matt will gain at least 15 pounds in the next two weeks. We will instead take you up on your offers after we get out of here and we can celebrate with you and Baby Hunt back at home.)

Not much for a health update except that everyone says that we are doing great. The 48 hour uneasy period is now behind us and as long as I keep resting, everything should go well. My doctor told me I need to be a human incubator for the next two weeks. Through the various monitorings, the baby's heart rate seems to be doing great and he/she is responsive to the standard stimuli it receives from my body. During my thirty minutes on the heart rate/contraction monitor this morning, I only had one contraction - which I never felt. The nurses were very happy with that.

Sorry for the lack of posts today, as Matt said, my internet was down most of the day. Hopefully we won't get back to the amount of posts we had on Monday, but I will try to put a few out here per day.

Thanks to everyone for all of the loving comments, it means a ton to Matt and I. Give me a call, email or stop by, I am just sitting around for the next two weeks.

Take care, Love, Alison

PS - Matt actually typed this post for me, and that comment about the nurses thinking he is hot is true. Well, not really, its just an ego boost.

Ali,
Hey just a note from uncle Bill and I to let you know we are thinking about you and praying for baby Hunt. Jadyn was delivered 7 weeks early as you may remember, she was little but did very well. Also, Adrienne was only 4 lb 2 oz and she had no difficulties either. I understand your misery, I went into labor 2 months early with Morgan, spent a month on bedrest and delivered a month early. The days are quite long...but I hear the rooms are nicer than 17 years ago....
Love ya,
Uncle Bill & Aunt Tammy

Mmmm well hopefully you have enough candy for all your visitors to gain some of the 15 pounds! Sorry I haven't been there but this weekend I will be there!

I'm happy you're doing so well, all things considered! I've always believed nurses are good people to have on your side!

Oh my gosh, I could totally tell that Matt wrote this post. Ali would NEVER say some of that stuff! Too funny.

Hey Ali we're glad to hear that you are doing well. Keep resting and incubating. Maybe I can talk Uncle David into taking me out to dinner in the city and we'll come and see you this week-end. Love, Aunt Sue
