Sleepy Head

One of the last things I do before I head to bed at night is check on Ethan. I have done this since he came home from the hospital so, it has become sort of a ritual for me and something I look forward to. I find comfort in knowing he is sleeping peacefully. Usually I make sure he has not lost any pacis (God forbid), is covered up, and give him one last kiss; but last night I had to run downstairs to grab the camera because he just looked so sweet all sprawled out. He is normally fast asleep all curled up on his belly, but not tonight. Poor guy must have been so tired he just passed out!

In other Ethan news, the past month or so has been rough for the big guy. He has not been eating well and has been extremely fussy (which is not really that fussy at all, but completely abnormal for him). I knew that he was getting the two teeth on either side of his front teeth, but what I didn't realize was that he was also getting 2 more teeth on the bottom and 4 molars. That could explain the lack of eating and crankiness.

He has also started walking, which is amazing, but with walking comes lots of falls, bumps, and bruises. Ethan has been cruising for quite a while now so we knew walking was not that far off and sure enough he took his first steps on August 19th, which ironically enough was his actual due date. He really started moving though the Sunday after his birthday party. He still looks like a drunken sailor, but is improving each day and crawling less and less. We will try and get a video posted with his new skills this weekend.

He still continues to be such a happy, sweet boy and we love him so much. I think he is at such a fun age right now and I can't wait to see what the upcoming months bring with new words, lots of movement, and overall curiosity.
