Snow, Snow...Go AWAY!!

I must first apologize for being such a delinquent blogger. I really have no excuse except pure laziness and the fact that I have been reading my book at lunch instead of posting. Ooops, sorry about that....I will try to be better.

Since it has been quite a while since we posted, I will try and give you a brief update on what our life has entailed during the past week or so. First, we are in the middle of what seems like our 100th snow storm. Last week we got about a foot of snow and it pretty much all melted on Monday and Tueday, which created a gross dreary mess outside. I am looking out my office window right now and the snow is just coming down and blowing all over the place. Last I heard, we are supposed to get 8-14 inches of snow and Tom Skilling is predicting that the storm might produce the city's biggest snow in 9 years. Lovely!!! While I do love the snow, it sure does not make for a fun walk to the el to and from work. If only I were on the slopes in Colorado!

Enough complaining about the weather and on to a weekend update.....Matt and I had a great weekend in the suburbs. Friday, we headed out to Crystal Lake with a stop in Cary to see Jaime and Mike. We thought Mother Nature was going to ruin our plans again (we tried to go to a Sox game in August, but a monsoon pretty much ruined our plans) with all the snow, but luckily a lot of folks decided not to go to work on Friday and it was smooth sailing up north. We had a great time with Jaime and Mike, as it had been way too long since we saw each other last. Dinner was filled with bad wine, great food and even better conversation. Thanks guys for taking us to Galati's, it was delicious!!

Saturday, Matt and I went to see the Felde's and to meet Baby Brianna. It was great to see the Felde's, I can't believe how big Hailey is. Brianna is just over a month old and absolutely precious. I can't wait to see them again next time we are in Crystal Lake, our visit was just way too short. After that, we headed to Geneva to look at houses with my favorite realtor....my mom!!! I truly admire her for what she does, it is such an exhausting process. We looked at about 15 houses and I was wiped out by the end of the day. I can't imagine doing that several times a week. Yes, you are reading this correctly, we are thinking about moving to the suburbs. It is such a hard decision to leave downtown, but we knew it would happen eventually. While we saw some great houses, we didn't find anything we loved. I think we did narrow down the area and price range, which makes things a little easier. We also have to sell our condo, which could be very difficult in this market. We will keep everyone posted on what happens with moving or not moving!

Sunday, Matt hung out with my parents and did some studying while I went to Jaime's shower. It was so fun to see all the Crystal Lake girls and catch up with Jaime some more; she looks absolutely wonderful. Alex Joseph received a lot of really nice things, he is going to be one dapper little guy. We can't wait for his arrival in March. After the shower, we headed back to the city to catch the Super Bowl.

So, that is what is new and exciting in our lives. Check back this week for more updates, I promise there will be some!!! Hope everyone is well!
