Last Saturday my mom, dad, Matt and I hopped in the car and headed straight down I-55 to Carlinville to celebrate Christmas with the Konneker's. As you can see from the picture, we encountered and ice storm about halfway through our trip. The weather was a little scary, but we made it safely with only one pit stop (which is a miracle for my mom and I).After a quick stop at my grandparents to change and drop off our bags, we headed over to my Aunt Kate and Uncle Bob's for the party. As always, we had a ton of delicious food; there was constant grazing all day. As usual, Matt was a hit with all the little ones, keeping them on their toes and constantly entertained. If only his partner in crime, Ben, had been there (K & B, we missed you!!). It was great to see all my aunts, uncles, cousins, cousin's kids, and grandparents....there are always lots of stories to be told.
It was a short trip, as we headed home early Sunday morning, but nonetheless, a great way to start Christmas celebrations. Thank you Aunt Kate and Uncle Bob for hosting everyone!!!
