On Sunday, Ethan and I will be walking to support March of Dimes in their annual Walk for Babies. This is our second year walking and we are asking for your support. Last year our walk was cut short due to some crazy thunderstorms so, we are hoping for sunny skies and warm weather as we enjoy the 10K walk around Chicago with thousands of other families. March of Dimes is near and dear to our hearts because as most of you know, Ethan arrived into this world a little over 7 weeks early and spent the first 40 days of his life in the NICU. Without the help and outstanding care of the doctor's and nurses in the NICU and outstanding health insurance, Ethan would not be the big guy he is today! Other families are not so fortunate. And, there’s still a lot of work to be done in the medial community to help understand preterm labor and ensure the healthy delivery of all babies.
Like last year, we will join our friends, the Rice's, for the walk. They make up the other half of our team "City Babies" as their son, Jack, was also born early and a hospital-mate turned best buddy of Ethan's. Katie and I know we were fortunate to have two perfect little angels for the walk last year, content on riding along in the strollers, taking in the scenery. We know this year is bound to be a different story. In the past couple of months, Ethan has turned into a ball of energy, running everywhere, into everything and truly loving life. He is starting to say lots of words, loves anything with wheels, watching sports with his dad, and being outside.
We are hoping we can count on your support for this wonderful cause. Even $10.00 will make a difference in the life of a premature baby. Your gift will support March of Dimes research programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies and babies begin healthy lives. We know how important this is as we receive care above and beyond as I continue with my second pregnancy. And it will be used to bring comfort and information to families with a baby in newborn intensive care.

I apologize that this post comes several days after I placed the March of Dimes widget on our blog. Thank you to all of you that have already made a donation on Ethan's behalf. We truly appreciate it!
