Home Sweet Home

The past couple weeks have been filled with lots of blood, sweat and tears, but we are finally moved into our new house and somewhat settled. I can't exactly say it feels like home yet, but I know that will come over the next several months. For me, it has been a hard transition and a bit overwhelming. Frankly, I miss the city and our condo a lot! I was comfortable there, I loved our neighbors, I had a quick drive to work and there were people out and about all the time. While I love having all the space, peace and quiet, and a great yard, it feels like I am living in someone else's house. I can usually handle change well, but this move has toyed with my emotions quite a bit. We have put a lot of work into the house so far which has made it even more charming, we seem to have great neighbors and the town of Glen Ellyn is so lovely and quaint; I know I will eventually grow to love our new house.

Besides the move, sprucing up the house, and unpacking, we have had a lot of other things going on that we will eventually post about (we are currently without Internet at home). The biggest being that Ethan turned 1. Matt did a short post about our little celebration, but there will be more to come about our big guy! We have also had visits from the Glynn's, the Rice's, the Gibson's, the Oskay's, and Shannon along with a big celebration for the Cranley twins. We celebrated the 4th of July and Jack Rice's birthday. Be on the lookout for many more posts as soon as we get our Internet hooked up.

Lastly, we have had oodles of help from our parents and siblings over the past several weeks and we can't thank them enough for all that they have done for us. The house would not be looking nearly as great as it does without them. Thank you mom, dad, Kristi, Ben, Carol, Larry, Kelly and Jim for your continuous help, constant support, and never ending love. We could not have made it through this without you!
