Oscar Buzz

Just a couple of overdue Oscar thoughts (I made the dress collage so why not post, right?):
  • My favorite gown of the evening was the one worn by Freida Pinto. This gown received mixed review, but I thought it was gorgeous. The color and style just stood out on the rather bland red carpet. Can you do any wrong when you are that gorgeous though?
  • A close second to Freida Pinto's gown was the one Taraji Henson wore. Her necklace was to die for.
  • Loved that Tina Fey and Anne Hathaway didn't wear black, they both looked stunning in their gold beaded gowns.
  • I didn't think Jessica Biel's dress was as bad as the reviews said. Also, did not think her hair was that terrible.
  • How awkward was it for Jennifer Aniston having to present with Brad and Angelina sitting in the front row about 2 feet from her. She looked beautiful though.
  • The Oscars seemed less "awards-y" this year. I thought there was a lot more entertainment and props than in in previous years. Not nearly as boring as in years past.
  • Hugh Jackman was hilarious and a great host.
  • The number Hugh Jackman did with Beyonce, Amanda Seyfried, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens was one of my favorite segments.
  • Hooray for Slum Dog Millionaire. While I have not seen the movie, I have heard nothing but great things about it, can't wait for it to come out on DVD.
  • So over Brad and Angelina, but think Dev Patel and Freida Pinto would be the cutest couple!
  • Kate Winslet is gorgeous, although her hair just wasn't doing anything for me. She just seems so sweet and genuine. Love how she called out her parents.
